Shaheen Afridi bowls to Rohit Sharma, - ACC
The highly anticipated Asia Cup 2023 match between Pakistan and India was being played at Pallekele Cricket Stadium in Kandy on Saturday when the rain interrupted play. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were bowled out by Shaheen Afridi.

The Pakistani pacers and Indian hitters were expected to engage in an exciting clash throughout the highly anticipated game.

However, early worries that rain may interfere with the game came true when it was stopped in the fourth over of the game with India already having scored 15 runs.

It should be mentioned that Pakistan's Asia Cup 2023 campaign got off to a strong start on Wednesday with a commanding 238-run victory over Nepal.

In the meantime, this is India's opening game in the competition.

India earlier decided to bat first after winning the toss. Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, said: "There is a little bit of weather around, but we cannot think about it too much."

"Embrace the difficulty and the circumstance. We practiced our talents over a six-day course in Bangalore, according to Sharma.

"Quality teams compete in the Asia Cup, which is a quality competition. We need to consider what we can do in this situation at the end of the day.

Babar, on the other hand, said: "To be honest, we also wanted to bat first."

"We have played a lot of cricket here in the last one and a half months, so we know the conditions."

India has the upper hand against Pakistan with seven wins in 13 Asia Cup (ODI) matches. Meanwhile, Pakistan has won five with one match ending in no result.

Pakistan have also lost four of the last five matches against India in the Asia Cup, with their last win coming in Mirpur in 2014.
