"PCB reacts strongly to ACC's unilateral decisions, demands emergency meeting," sources said.
Sources told Geo News on Tuesday that Jay Shah, the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and secretary of the Indian cricket board, has made the Asia Cup 2023 a laughingstock by switching the location of the matches back to Colombo just hours after agreeing to do so.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reacted strongly to the ACC's Tuesday communication to its members informing them that matches that had been moved to Hambantota will now be played in Colombo, according to the sources.
According to them, "The PCB has expressed strong reservations on the matter," and the board has asked for an urgent meeting of the ACC to reach a consensus on this matter.
The cricket authorities in Pakistan have similarly refused to recognize this independent choice made by a Jay Shah-led provincial cricket organization.
The administration is in a bind when it comes to back-to-back venue changes because they have made logistical preparations to relocate to Hambantota but have now been informed that the site would stay the same.
The players are additionally perplexed as a result of ambiguous venue settings.
Note that Jay Shah's obstinacy has caused the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 to be mired in controversy for an extended period of time in nine out of 13 cases.
